Baker stirs things up at Sundance

AUSSIE success story Simon Baker is generating even more buzz at this year's Sundance Film Festival.

The iconic celeb-fest founded by Robert Redford is staged in Park City, Utah, and attracts legions of film producers and studio execs who get together to thrash out distribution deals for the year's best new indie films.

Simon's turn in the financial thriller Margin Call is attracting strong reviews and Hollywood insiders are tipping it as the role to convert his small-screen success to the big screen.

Confidential's man at Sundance cornered one of the film's producers in a cinema bathroom and was told that the film was made for $3 million, a pittance considering it stars Kevin Spacey, Paul Bettany, Jeremy Irons and Demi Moore.

The flick was sold to distributors Lionsgate and Roadside for about $10 million after all-night negotiations.
