Story :
The film is based on Jim Thompson's 1952 noir novel and concerns a deputy sheriff in a West Texas town whose kind Everyman demeanor masks his true dark self. He is slowly revealed as a psychotic killer. The county attorney Howard Hendricks trying to expose the sheriff as the killer.
